To optimise productivity, VersaWorks 6 provides 64-bit native support to maximise performance from the latest 64-bit operating systems – this is said to improve processing of complicated data, including complex vectors and multiple layers, “with ease and precision”. Also included are five print queues, each of which offers unlimited saved settings for recurring jobs, clients and media so users can save settings for specific client requirements and immediately reload past settings for recurring jobs. PDF files can be processed natively to render transparencies, drop shadows and other special effects the way they are intended to look in the design. Plus, a colour-matching function in VersaWorks 6 promises consistent colour when using multiple printers of the same model and ink configuration, allowing accurate colour control when using more than one printer for volume production for the same client, or jobs involving large, combined graphics. VersaWorks 6, whose user interface has been redesigned to be even more intuitive than previous versions, is bundled with certain Roland DG inkjet printers and printer/cutter models (see website for more details), and is available from the Roland DG website now as a free upgrade for users of the same machines in the EMEA. www.rolanddg.co.uk VersaWorks 6 has been introduced by Roland DG
