Get up to speed on current technology with our round-up of the latest innovations in digital printing equipment Dye Sublimation Supplies: Reveal Sublimation Imaging System Dye Sublimation Supplies has introduced the Reveal Sublimation Imaging System which allows users to sublimate onto cotton. Commenting on the new print system and transfer film, the company says: “The Reveal-S Film is a gamechanger; a film with smartcoating technology that allows you to sublimate onto cotton with stunning results.” Steven Wooldridge, MD, adds, “We have been amazed by Reveal-S. Being part of the development has been really exciting. We’ve tried out most other garment transfers and it produces the best results by far.” The new film allows the printing of full-colour, intricate designs onto white or light-coloured cotton, with subsequent film products promising white and then full- colour printing onto dark cotton garments. Dye Sublimation Supplies is the sole UK distributor of the Reveal-S Film and the PrintPerfect P600S imaging system, which includes an Epson printer and Geo Knight transfer press. “Demonstrating the Reveal-S at P&P Live!, there was a lot of interest, especially because it takes only 18 seconds to press and there’s no weeding involved; we had some really detailed test images as well and it blew everyone away,” says Steven. www.dyesublimationsupplies.co.uk Adelco: Kornit HD series “Digital garment printing has made significant changes in low run and personalised leisurewear for the e-commerce and direct retail markets over the last 10 years,” comments Adelco. “In fact, many of the online retail platforms could only exist from the successes of the digital garment print systems and the developments made in increased speed and print quality.” There is a need, however, for digital print costs to be reduced in order to further grow and expand into the traditional screen print markets, believes Adelco, and it’s a direction machine manufacturer Kornit has been moving in. “Kornit began such a programme to drive print costs down with the introduction of its R-Series of industrial print platforms over 18 months ago,” continues Adelco. “This reduced print costs by around 30% and brought the break-even point closer on screen print comparative runs.” Then at the ISS show in Long Beach, January 2018, Kornit launched an additional platform called HD that further reduces print costs by 30%. “This means that print costs on today’s Kornit systems are 46% lower than they were only two years ago.” Mark Smith, managing director Adelco, adds, “Adelco is delighted to be able to offer a unique ability to screen printers to make digital print a more viable solution for their day-to- day work as a direct result of Kornit’s programme to drive down print costs. www.adelco.co.uk The Reveal-S PrintPerfect P600 system complete with Epson printer and GeoKnight press The new Avalanche HD makes digital print a more viable option for screen printers
