The main attraction on the Stocks Embroidery and Sewing Solutions stand was the new 18-colour ZSK Sprint 7 embroidery machine, which has a maximum embroidery area of 400x300mm maximum speed of 1,200spm. GS UK kicked off a good show by selling one of the new Brother GTX direct-to-garment printers to Mark Somerfield of Direct Textiles. GS UK also had the latest Brother PR670E embroidery machine on its stand, alongside the Brother 1050x machine. Also on showwere a range of Merlin embroidery machines, while its threads and consumables information desk and demonstrations of Ethos Embroidery Software Version 18 attracted a lot of attention. MHM Direct GB was also demonstrating the benefits of the Brother GTX machine, with two printers feeding a Tesoma conveyor dryer. As well as an MHM automatic press, the stand housed a Dekken T-Apparel folding machine. MHM Direct GB had signed a distribution deal with Dekken shortly before the exhibition, reported MD John Potter David Kandelhardt, founder of Ghost Toner, was flat out demonstrating the new Ghost Sublime Toner, as well as the original Ghost White Toner. Each toner can be used in existing laser printers, with the Ghost Sublime Toner turning it into a sublimation printer, and the Ghost White Toner turning it into a White Toner printer. Transfer printing specialists, TheMagicTouch were also pulling a large audience with the first UK showing of the new Ricoh Ri 100 compact DTG printer. Similar in size to a standard desktop laser printer, the new machine can be fitted with an integrated drying drawer meaning that there is no requirement for a heat press. Nathan Newbury demonstrated the machine’s ability to print onto garments and bags and suggested that the Ri 100 is perfect for printing in retail outlets and at events. Innovation Schoolwear received a positive response to the wide range of new styles on display, including the Boys Slim Fit Pull On Trousers, Long Sleeve Polo, Poly/Cotton Sweatshirts and Poly/Cotton Sweatshirt Cardigans, as well as its range of school bags. Comfort Colors had a number of new styles on its stand, including the innovative Adult French Terry Scuba Hoodie (1535), which has a great scuba-style hood with colour- matched flatcord, along with on-trend side-vents and drop tail. Its new headwear, such as the Unstructured Trucker Cap (105), was also attracting a lot of attention. YES launched the long-awaited QM-8 direct-to-garment printer at the show. It promises 340+ white shirts an hour with an A4 image at 720 x 720dpi, and has four print heads in a staggered set-up. Also introduced at the showwas Print Wizard, a suite of transfer printing systems aimed at start-ups and those wanting to add an extra revenue stream to their business.
