Also on display was the new Performance Adult Core Hooded T-Shirt (46500), which comes in heather shades. The Anvil stand showed the brand is a serious fashion choice for the high volume market with its racks of garments with elegant drapes, soft fabrics and on-trend shades such as terracotta. Little details such as split seams, racerbacks and dropped hems were in evidence, along with looser fits, more unisex styles and light terry fabrics; the Unisex Light Terry Crew (73000), seen here with Jonny Thomson, was just one of its show-stoppers. The Mancunian-inspired Originals range of jackets has been doing very well since its launch in mid-2017, said Megan Pacey of Regatta Professional, especially the Fallowfield and Castlefield. The reflective clothing from the X-Pro Performance range was also proving popular, with the Lumen Reflective Stretch Softshell (TRA611) shining bright. On the Orn stand, Weigle the Eagle as ever was a crowd-pleaser – almost as much as the competition the brand was running for 10% off orders until 1st April for all visitors to its stand, reports Orn’s Jane Peters. The brand also has a competition running where the person who posts the best photo on Orn’s LinkedIn site of a toy Weigle the Eagle (picked up from the stand) will win an iPad worth £350. Fruit of the Loom’s stand was a retail-inspired delight, with an emphasis on a new campaign by the brand looking at its long heritage. A large video screen showed a filmwhere Fruit garments were shown as being a favourite for everyone from families to music fans. As usual, the Mantis stand was stacked with fashionable styles underpinned by ethics. Founder Prama Bhardwaj revealed that the new Flash Dance Sweatshirt (M128, pictured), made from 80% organic cotton/20% recycled PET French terry, was a popular style, as was the 100% organic cotton Mantis Flash Dance T-Shirt (M129). Another retail-ready style that independent brands will love is the Mantis Ladies Cropped Hoodie (M140). Talk on the Adelco stand centred on the new Kornit HD DTG printers that are soon to hit the UK with their promise of cheaper ink prices, along with the Digi-Cure textile dryer, which was being exhibited for the first time at a UK show, reported managing director Mark Smith. The new dryer has an 80cmwide conveyor belt, integrated exhaust and fan, and high pressure airflow and offers an economical option for both digital and screen printers. Business development manager George McCue introduced a number of new styles on the Russell Europe stand, including the Bionic Softshell Jacket, which uses an ecological finish to repel water. Four new styles had been added to the knitwear range, including a men’s cardigan, a sleeveless cardigan, a men’s crew neck and a women’s crew neck. New knitwear colours include charcoal, blue denim and cranberry.
