The Ri 100 has been designed to fit on desks and shop counters. It prints up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi in vivid mode, and is bundled with a heating system that removes wrinkles from fabric, creating a smooth surface for printing, and then cures the ink afterwards. It has been designed with simplicity and safety in mind, reports the company, to help those who are new to DTG printing. Users can choose between Ricoh Design Software to create and print designs or an RPCS driver, which allows users to create designs with their preferred software of choice before printing. “Our customers have asked for an affordable, low risk way to enter the DTG market and we’re proud to be the first to answer that question at a price point that is unmatched today,” said Karl Tipre, CEO of AnaJet, a Ricoh company. Consumable and ink prices are yet to be finalised, although TheMagicTouch, which will be distributing the Ricoh Ri 100 in the UK, confirmed they will be competitive. The printer will become available in the UK in spring 2018. www.ricoh.co.uk www.themagictouch.co.uk The new Ricoh Ri 100 will be available this spring New heated lower platen from Target Transfers Target Transfers is now selling the Hotronix Heated Lower Platen. Compatible with any Hotronix Clam manufactured after 1990, the fully threadable, bottom-heated platen promises to work with delicate polyesters and triblends. Heat from the lower platen melts vinyl adhesive, allowing a lower application temperature from the top platen. It is said to eliminate the need to pre-heat garments and reduce the risk of dye migration on polyester. Features include anti-static, quick slip platen protector, separate digital micro-controller, and two- year warranty. Also new is the Easymount roll film laminator, which offers printers the ability to laminate, mount and encapsulate. www.targettransfers.com C R E A T I V I T Y B R O U G H T T O L I F E Discover the latest innovations at the UK’s leading annual showcase for the sign and display sectors.
