The Ellipse Oval, designed by a team of British engineers and built at Adelco’s factory in China, is available in three standard print sizes and up to 52 stations. “The superior build quality, heavy duty construction, unique front and rear locator, and pallet support system of the Ellipse Oval press makes it stand out from the competition,” says Mark Smith, managing director of Adelco. The Ellipse offers a chainless pallet system, which Mark says ensures longevity and reduces maintenance as well as a providing a smooth pallet index. A lock system is located on every pallet arm, which disengages the pallet from the drive mechanism to ensure consistent “pin-point, lifetime registration”, while the servo-driven print heads promise “exceptional speed and control torque”. The print heads feature adjustable screen chase, three-way responsive micro-registration, and a quick-release, high-lift facility for rapid screen cleaning and flash-cure docking. Each head also comes with a touchscreen control panel. Another feature is the rigid pallet arms optimising servo index, which supports the front and back of the pallet during the print cycle for zero pallet deflection. A wide range of pallet styles and sizes is available from Adelco. www.adelco.co.uk Dave Roper: M&R Stryker Automatic Oval Screen Printing Press “M&R’s Stryker is the most versatile and affordable oval screen printing press available, with pricing comparable to carousel presses of similar colour capacity,” reports Dave Roper. The Stryker’s 10-station base module can be expanded in six-station increments to create 16, 22, 28, 34, 40, 46, and 52-station configurations. Other than the end stations, there are no restrictions on print head placement, explains the company, and because all other stations can support print heads – and any station can be left open – Stryker’s layout can be tailored to almost any production requirement. “Since Stryker’s oval shape takes up less floor space than comparable carousel automatic screen printing presses, it makes more efficient use of available production area,” Dave Roper adds. “It also allows Stryker to fit into spots no carousel press could.” Stryker 6080, 70100, and 80110 have maximum standard image areas of 60 x 84cm, 70 x 100cm, and 80 x 110cm respectively, but can print images as large as 100 x 84cm, 122 x 100cm, and 132 x 110cm in alternating print heads. The increased image area afforded by alternating print heads makes Stryker ideal for cut-pieces and all-over garments. www.daveroper.co.uk The Ellipse Oval printing press from Adelco The M&R Stryker from Dave Roper
