In September Nicki Kay was appointed managing director of Zünd UK. Her new role includes delivering further growth for the company in the textile, sign and graphics, packaging, leather and composite manufacturing industries, as well as developing new markets. Nicki replaces Stuart Cole, who stepped down from the role earlier this year due to ill health, and has previously worked as a managing director at a UK manufacturer and distributor of electro-mechanical components and enclosures. “Zünd‘s cutters are the de facto finishing systems for businesses across the globe and I am delighted to take the helm at such a prestigious company,“ she commented. “My initial focus will be the successful integration of Zünd UK‘s global ERP and CRM systems to bolster Zünd UK‘s customer service excellence – an area I‘m particularly committed to.“ Tim Taylor, founder of Zünd UK and commercial director, added: “Nicki has a collaborative style and a people-engaging approach to general management and business leadership that will maximise both the financial performance of the company and the potential of our employees. She also has strong problem-solving and decision- making skills which she combines with a passion for quality manufacturing and customer care. “We are delighted she has chosen to join Zünd UK.“ www.zund.com/en CHANGING FACES Nicki Kay Nicki Kay INDUSTRY NEWS www.images-magazine.com 18 images OCTOBER 2018 Dickies begins search for ‘real‘ models Workwear brand Dickies is looking for ‘real‘ tradespeople to model its clothing and footwear. “Dickies is designed and made for real tradespeople, so it makes sense to use those who rely on our workwear to model our ranges,“ said James Whitaker, marketing director for Dickies. “We are striving for our advertising to be authentic. We don’t mind if our ‘real’ models have pot bellies, tattoos, yesterday’s stubble and there is no age limit! We hope that showcasing our workwear on other tradespeople will resonate well with our customers.“ The photos will be taken either at the new models’ place of work or in a ‘typical working environment‘, and images will be used in print advertising, brochures and flyers as well on social media. Those wanting to be considered as a paid model should send an email to dickies_models@vfc.com with the subject line ‘Make me a Dickies model‘, and include a photo along with their name, age, location, measurements and their trade. The campaign will run throughout 2018 and beyond, says the company. www.dickiesworkwear.com Graphics One: Go Sublimate Desktop Dye Sub System Graphics One, the distribution arm of Prism Inks, has announced the launch of a new desktop dye sublimation system, Go Sublimate, which it says “is the first desktop dye sublimation system to feature neon dye sub ink colours“. “The Go Sublimate Dye Sub System was developed to be used with the Epson EcoTank ET-7750 inkjet printer,“ says the company. “The Go SubliMate Kit adds CMYK, neon yellow SubliMate Dye Sub ink, CadLink’s Digital Factory Dye Sub Rip Software and Go SubliMate Dye Sub Paper as a bundle. The [US] list price with the printer is $1,399 and is just $599 for the kit without the printer.“ Amir Ajanee, managing partner of AD International, the owner of Graphics One, says, “Although we have been successfully shipping our Go SubliMate Dye Sub ink for some time, we modified the formulation to work successfully with Epson’s MicroTFP print head. “In addition to our expansive colour gamut, we offer 18-month shelf life on the traditional colours, outstanding UV lightfastness and, we believe, the highest quality dye sub ink available. This is made possible by our team of world class inks scientists at our R&D labs at Prism Inks in California.“ Graphics One is currently seeking distribution partners in Europe, especially in the UK. www.graphicsone.com Tell your customers: Dickies is looking for ‘real‘ models Go Subilmate is the new dye sub system from Graphics One
