The machine, a 1.8m wide roll-to-roll dedicated transfer paper printer, will now be available for £19,995 until 31 December 2018; it was previously on sale for £23,995. “As more and more textile printing companies adapt to a digital-focused production process, industry-leading products like the TS300P play an important role in facilitating this evolution,“ said Hybrid’s textile products manager, Brett Platt. Ronald van den Broek, general manager for sales EMEA at Mimaki Europe, added: “A conventional-to-digital transformation is currently taking place in the textile and apparel industry. As an early mover in this space, Mimaki has always been dedicated to bringing affordable, industry-leading solutions to the segment. By introducing a lower price on the TS300P-1800, we hope to accelerate the trend and spread this conventional-to-digital revolution even further.“ The Mimaki TS300P-1800 is available through Hybrid‘s network of specialist textile resellers. www.hybridservices.co.uk MagnaColours builds opportunities with Emboss Ink launch Water-based screen printing ink manufacturer MagnaColours has launched MagnaPrint Emboss Ink. This ready-to-use special effects ink allows screen printers to create embossed effects onto polyester fabrics. The water-based printing paste can be used to create embossed or raised areas on printed garments – simply print as usual, then cure and wash. Helen Parry, managing director at MagnaColours, explained: “We wanted to simulate the heat set embossing and pleating process by developing an ink which could do this for screen printers straight out of the pot. When printed onto polyester the ink expands, contracting certain areas of the fabric, creating a permanent embossed effect. “This is a really exciting new ink for the MagnaPrint range and something brand new for the screen printing industry. The industry is always demanding fresh and exciting printing techniques, and we pride ourselves on being able to deliver cutting edge technology to printers worldwide. Emboss Ink will provide printers with so many new possibilities for polyester fabrics and we can’t wait to see how this ink gets used out in the market.“ The launch of the Emboss Ink increases the MagnaColours specials ink offering and its Dimensions range of 3D effect inks, which currently include high build and expanding puff ready-to-use pastes. www.magnacolours.com MagnaColours has introduced MagnaPrint Emboss Ink The Mimaki TS300P-1800 is priced at £19,995 until the end of the year Dave Roper changes name and adds new heat press line Dave Roper Ltd is changing its name to Screen Print World from 1 November. “When I set up 15 years ago it was just me, and most people associated my name with M&R machinery so I named it Dave Roper,” explains managing director Dave Roper. “Nowadays, we’ve got a dozen staff and I think it’s time for something fresher.” Part of the reason for the change is also the change of direction. “Ten years ago, 90% of our sales were machines. Now, machinery is just 50%. We’re expanding ever more into consumables and we’re getting really well known for that. We’re probably the largest screen printing distributor in the UK in terms of number of staff and turnover, and we keep adding more products – only ones that we know work, though, we’re very careful about what brands we add.” As part of the drive to offer customers more choice, the company has introduced its own SPW (Screen Print World) heat press line (see the Heat Transfer & Vinyl Printing showcase for more details). www.daveroper.co.uk www.screenprintworld.co.uk (from 1 November 2018) Vastex launches low- cost F-1000 flash curer The new, low cost Vastex F-1000 Flash Cure Unit with a 2600W/240V, 46 x 46cm infrared heater is said to reduce flash cure times by 33%. The high-density, medium-wavelength, infrared heater has closely spaced coils to “eliminate the cold spots and under- curing”, and carries a 15-year warranty. Its built-in heat shields on four sides of the enclosure allow it to be positioned closer to the garment, improving temperature uniformity and increasing efficiency. The F-1000 is also available in a 120V, 1950Wmodel for low- to medium- capacity applications. All units come with a head leveller; extra-large side handles; heat control with power lights; and four-leg stand with castors and vertical adjustment collar allowing 360° rotation. An optional Rotary Table with two vented steel pallets allows the F-1000 unit to double as a low cost dryer, while the optional Auto-Flash upgrade (120 or 240V) with HMI controls rotates the head into place above the pallet via a foot pedal, and automatically rotates the head away from the pallet after a user-set dwell time, to prevent over-flashing and under-flashing. www. vastex.com
