The new printer was launched at three events in Europe during September and October to great acclaim, reports Hybrid Hybrid introduces new TS55-1800 printer Mimaki’s UK and Irish distributor Hybrid Services has announced the launch of the Mimaki TS55-1800, a new digital heat transfer sublimation printer that it says “brings high-end features to the entry and mid-level market“. The features include high-speed, one-pass printing at a high-resolution and ink-density, unattended printing with the new Mini Jumbo Roll and Mimaki’s Nozzle Check and Recovery System for continuous operation. With the release of the TS55-1800, Mimaki says it has delivered “on making high-end digital textile printing features available to a much broader market“. The new model prints at a resolution of 480 x 600dpi with a high ink density using one-pass printing at 140 sqm/h, and promises low running costs and high productivity and reliability. In addition, the Mimaki Advanced Pass System (MAPS4) is said to improve the quality of two-pass printing by eliminating banding. One of the key features of the TS55-1800 is the optional use of a new mini jumbo roll unit that can continuously feed 2,500 linear metres of heat transfer paper to the printer. This enables customers to substitute the use of small plotter rolls with mini jumbo rolls, which can save them over 20% in print media cost. Also, mini jumbo rolls of Mimaki Vision Jet-X transfer paper, supplied by Neenah Coldenhove, will be offered as a package deal with the TS55-1800. “The 2,500m mini jumbo rolls are the ideal way to upgrade to high-volume unattended textile printing,“ confirmed Hybrid. “In addition, the printer is fitted with Mimaki’s unique Nozzle Check and Recovery System and 10-litre ink tanks, which ensure failsafe continuous operation for extended periods, such as unattended overnight printing.“ Hybrid’s chief operations manager, Brett Newman, commented: “Features such as variable data printing – thanks to Mimaki’s new RIP software – bring big additional productivity gains, reducing the time it takes to create artwork and offering a bespoke job straight from the printer. Combine this with high output speeds and low running costs and we fully expect the new TS55 to take its place at the forefront of UK textile manufacturing.” www.hybridservices.co.uk. Erwin Vandousselaere, CEO of Summa, commented: “We have seen a substantial growth in Summa in recent years and the acquisition of CCT is a real milestone for us. Together we will be stronger to achieve further growth.“ John Bell, founder of CCT and GS UK, added: “With Summa, I am fully convinced that CCT will have continuity through their worldwide network and well- developed sales and marketing capacities.
