N ew for 2 01 9 from Babybugz is the Baby Rocks Denim Jacket (BZ53). Thi s cute jacket has been cleverly designed to look like a traditio n al denim jacket, but promises to be comfortable to wear and ea s y t o decorate. Kirsty Macdon a ld, brand manager at Babybugz, explains: “We’ve aimed to retain all the cre d ibil ity and well-loved styling of the traditional denim jacket, but translated it into a garment that’s much more suitable for decoration. To provide perfect d ec oration areas, we’ve replaced the cut-and-sewn panelling that would be found on a retail denim jacket with jeans-style orange-stitch details to afford a m uch flatter front area and have left the back of the garment seam-f r ee.“ Other features inc lude poppers on the front and cuffs, along with waist tabs and fr o nt pocket flaps that are for decoration only. The jacket, whic h ca n be printed or embroidered, ties in with the ‘mini me‘ m o ve ment that is huge in retail at the moment, she confirms, ad ding that the babywear market is currently experiencing high-l evel growth. The style – al o ng with the three other items in the new Baby Rocks Denim r ange: baby joggers, dungarees and a bandana bib – off ers the imprint market something completely new, sa ys Kirsty. “As the market leaders in babywear we h av e to keep pushing the boat and delighting custo m e rs. Feedback has been incredibly positive from th o se distributors and customers who have been given an a d va nce preview of the 2019 launches.” The fabric ch o ic e fits in with Mantis World‘s commit m e nt to using only sustainable fib res by 2021. “We’re usi n g a 100% organic cotton den im, produced in a mill that both offers and provi d es us with our required assurance s and incredibly high standards r e g arding water usage and cleanliness, and r e sponsible approach to working conditi o ns and respect for those involved in the pro duction programme. It was important to ensur e that the fabric was suitable for purpose; the 9o z fabric offers the right balance between softness t o ensure comfort in wear, with the ruggedness a ss ociated with denim.“ The Babybugz B aby Rocks Denim Jacket will be available in Janu a r y 2019 in one colour – mid- blue – and in siz e s 3/6 months to 2/3 years.
