DTG PRINTING www.images-magazine.com 60 images SEPTEMBER 2018 Polyprint: Digital Factory Apparel v10 Polyprint says it can now offer a custom-designed software solution for the TexJet DTG printer series, in collaboration with CadLink. The new software, Digital Factory Apparel v10 - Polyprint Edition, enables e-commerce automation thanks to the barcode scanning feature. “Useful for practically any size of business, this feature automatically populates a queue of print jobs with a single scan-and-print action,“ explains the company. In this edition, Polyprint integrates directly into the suite – at no additional cost – the usually optional module FluidMask, which allows the fast and easy masking/cutting out of objects from any image. Polyprint says it provides training and support to all existing and new customers. Other important features include: file drag and drop; in-RIP advanced design capabilities; special filters and effects such as the KnockMeBlackOut and KnockMeColourOut, which remove black/coloured backgrounds from a design when printing on similarly coloured garments, leading to ink usage savings; and the Advanced Cost Calculator, which provides the user with detailed print costs prior to printing, and also includes labour and tax estimates. “The superb print quality of Digital Factory Apparel is recognised as the new benchmark amongst DTG professionals by providing the most accurate and vibrant colour reproduction of any DTG colour management software solution available today,“ concludes Polyprint. www.polyprintdtg.com Digital Factory Apparel v10 - Polyprint Edition is available now GS UK: Brother GTX DTG printer GS UK describes the latest generation of Brother direct-to-garment printer, the Brother GTX, as “a market leader that has raised the bar on garment printing“. Capable of 1200 x 1200 dpi in a single pass, the printer moves increasingly closer to the larger and more expensive units available in the market place, suggests the company. The new generation of Brother industrial print heads promises faster printing speeds, while the new white ink circulation system keeps the white ink in suspension and the wet capping station helps to stop ink from drying on the bottom of the nozzle plate, resulting in reduced maintenance costs and downtime. Aside from printing speeds and maintenance costs, another advantage of choosing a Brother GTX is the new Innobella inks which offer a wider colour gamut, providing more vibrancy and depth to colours. Also, a smaller sized machine like the GTX can provide a wider spread of production and reduce the risk of breakdowns holding up production, maintains GS UK. “A number of large, EU-based ‘print on demand’ T-shirt factories have adopted this process and form a shell system at the start of the dryer, with ever more efficient production workflow as they close the gap on the larger machines and in some cases can outperform them.“ The company continues: “At GS UK we supply many UK-based garment print plants. Most of our customers at some point in their evaluation process require a direct ‘like for like’ print quality test. The sharper, vibrant Brother print moves the GTX to the top of their list nine times out of 10. When considering production run speeds – pre-treatment times, drying times etc – the Brother is comparable even with larger machines that pre-treat and print in one process.” GS UK adds that when the initial cost of the equipment is taken into account, the returns on a Brother GTX can be far quicker. www.gs-uk.com The new Brother Innobella inks provide a wider colour gamut for more vibrant prints
