DTG PRINTING www.images-magazine.com 58 images SEPTEMBER 2018 Broaden your digital horizons Whether you‘re looking for a new direct-to-garment printer, quality-enhancing DTG software, a productivity-boosting dryer for curing digitally printed designs, or the latest automated pretreatment machine, our annual DTG printing showcase includes the top choices from the leading suppliers in every category Resolute: Ricoh Ri 3000 and Ri 6000 DTG printers Ricoh has launched its Ri 3000 and Ri 6000 DTG printers in the UK through its accredited Gold DTG service partner Resolute DTG. According to Resolute, both Ricoh models are “incredibly fast DTG printers“, with Ricoh quoting a 27 second print time for an A3 print. The Ricoh Ri 3000 and Ri 6000 are built with industrial stainless steel print heads and covered by a Ricoh warranty. “Other working components such as the capping station are also built to industrial standards, making them serviceable rather than a consumable part,“ explains Resolute. The company continues: “Both the Ri 6000 and Ri 3000 sit on ethernet networks; this makes for blisteringly fast file transfer speeds. Each machine has fully automated white ink circulation with auto-cleaning cycles when needed. Coupled with its new, large touchscreen interface and automatic laser-controlled platen height, they are not only quick, they are easy to use.“ A wide range of garment platens are available including sleeve, cap, youth, polo and pocket versions. The large amount of space between zero height and print height means additional shirt pallets can be loaded on top of the standard platen, this allows for fast turnaround when swapping between different pallet sizes. Custom pallets can also be used to create any odd-shaped jigs required for a specific application or garment. www.resolutedtg.com M&R: Digital Squeegee “M&R’s DS-4000 and DS-2000 Digital Squeegee systems are setting the standard for hybrid printing,“ says the company. “At production rates of 400+ prints per hour for the DS-4000 and 200+ for the DS-2000, the systems bridge the gap between DTG printing and screen printing.“ Using a screen printed underbase eliminates the need for time-consuming pretreatment and expensive digital white inks, explains M&R. The company’s hybrid printing process is said to reduce the time, labour and cost required by digitally printing alone, making small and mid-size print runs cost effective. “Screen printing typically requires hours to perform separations, process and expose screens, mix inks, and register the press. Hybrid jobs can be set up and printed on the Digital Squeegee in a fraction of the time with a minimal number of screens, greatly reducing production times,“ the company continues. It adds: “With some creative planning, a common screen- printed white underbase can be used with varying digital print data to produce completely different images in the same print run.“ Hybrid prints can also be embellished with speciality printing effects before or after the digital print. www.mrprint.com The Ri 6000 DTG printer is now available in the UK through Ricoh’s accredited Gold DTG service partner Resolute The Digital Squeegee DS-4000 from M&R
