INDUSTRY NEWS www.images-magazine.com 20 images MAY 2018 Corel introduces CorelDraw Graphics Suite 2018 Corel has unveiled the latest version of its graphic design software, CorelDraw Graphics Suite 2018. There are a number of new features, including Symmetry drawing mode, which is said to allow the creation of “highly complex graphics”, such as kaleidoscopic effects, and Block Shadow, which adds solid vector shadows to objects and text. Crooked images can be straightened interactively and photo perspective can also be adjusted, while AfterShot 3 HDR allows users to make “professional-grade, non-destructive corrections and enhancements to RAW or JPEG photos and create high dynamic range (HDR) images”. The LiveSketch tool now has enhanced precision, and the software also includes the new Project Timer, allowing users to keep on track of time management. John Falsetto, senior director of products for CorelDraw and Productivity, said: “For our 2018 version, we worked closely with the CorelDraw community to find this ideal balance of possibility and practicality. The new Symmetry mode brings a sense of fun and wonder, enabling you to experiment and draw spectacular images in minutes; while a simpler and smarter approach to design fundamentals, like working with nodes and images, ensures every project is completed on time and on budget. The end result is a powerful suite that supports your workflow from inspiration to flawless output.” www.coreldraw.com CorelDraw Graphics Suite 2018 offers numerous new features T King Associates wins two awards Garment decoration business T King Associates was named Overall Winner at the SME Buckinghamshire Business Awards on 29 March in Milton Keynes. The downloadable book explains how screen print shops can build a price list based on their actual costs and shop efficiency. Aimed at moving readers away from what Marshall says is the “highly incorrect ‘average of the shops near me’” method of pricing, it offers step-by-step advice on how to mine a shop’s historical data to determine an accurate price list. “All too often, shops wonder if they are pricing things correctly,” said Marshall. “You see this on Facebook or industry forums constantly. With this book, any shop can calculate a price list that uses their true cost for running the shop and actual production data to do it properly.” The book retails for $59. www.atkinsontshirt.com/product/price-for-profit Marshall publishes ‘Price for Profit’ eBook
