Held in co-operation with British Interiors and Textile Association (BITA), the event attracted a wide range of delegates who came to hear experts talk on a variety of topics, ranging from ‘Textiles and science fiction’ to ‘Wearable electronics’. Peter Kiddell of Fespa UK Association said: “We were delighted, both by the number of delegates the event attracted, and the diversity of the audience – specifiers, designers, printers, retailers and, importantly, colleges and academics. “It was also especially rewarding to hear so many positive comments about the quality of presentations, and how enlightening and valuable the day’s content was for delegates.” www.fespauk.com Textile Printing Now hailed as a success Textile Printing Nowwas well-attended Graphtec expands CE range of cutting plotters Graphtec added the CE Lite-50 machine to its CE series of cutting plotters in April. Described as a ‘new category of small format, entry level, professional cutting plotter’, it boasts a cutting speed of 500mm/s. Other features include a 50cm wide roll media facility, an LED-based sensor, intuitive touch-panel operation and an expandable interface. It also incorporates Graphtec’s latest version (7) of the proprietary ARMS (Automatic Registration Mark Sensing) system along with Cutting Master software that enables the use of design data created in Adobe Illustrator and CorelDraw programmes. The company says this ready-to-use, water-based product has been created for intense, glow-in-the-dark print effects in green, light blue and aqua. It has no base colour so is invisible under natural light, but when in the dark, the charged inks will glow for up to 15 minutes without additional exposure to natural or ultraviolet light. “At Magna, we pride ourselves on the vast number of special effect inks within our product range,” commented managing director Helen Parry. “We’re constantly developing new innovations to meet the demands of the fashion and screen printing industry. The addition of Glow FX to the Magna product portfolio demonstrates how we are continuing to innovate and expand our product range of water-based inks, offering even more options to printers and brands.” The Glow FX introduction coincides with the launch of the company’s new website, which includes a dedicated landing page for browsing the catalogue, along with filtering by product category. www.magnacolours.com MagnaColours adds glow-in- the-dark ink to SFX range MagnaColours launched Glow FX in April The CE Lite-50 is the latest in the CE cutting plotter series
