This offers more than 170 fonts, including 15 new standard ones, and can be used with Tajima, Brother, SWF and ZSK embroidery machines. New features include one click conversion, which instantly converts segments to different stitch types; the ability to round corners as well as to outline shapes and convert the outline into any type of segment; a tool that digitises logos and letters by dragging paths; and ‘combine and join’, which allows users to digitise a portion of the shape and mirror it into one closed segment. Other new tools include sequin paintbrush and a personalisation toolbar. Also from AJS is the Seit Performa Laser, a CO2 laser machine for cutting and engraving a wide range of materials, such as fabric, leather, rubber, textiles, plastics and wood. The company says it is ideal for customising clothing and promotional items. The Performa has an automatic focusing lens and a laser beam light that creates a ‘preview’ of the design. The final product is the new Tajima auto colour changing seed beads embroidery device, which allows embroiderers to add seed beads to designs. Said to be ideal for mass production, the device allows up to four different colours of beads in the same design, and has a maximum rotating speed of 800rpm. ww.ajs-embroidery.co.uk The Seit Performa Laser is available from AJS Amaya Sales UK: Melco Embroidery Systems Amaya Sales UK offers the Melco EMT16 Plus range, a modular system that Amaya says “has proven to be the fastest multi-head system available because of its top speed and modular efficiency”. Its latest release is the Melco Fast Clamp, which has been designed for hard-to-frame products such as boots, bags, pockets, gloves etc. The clamp is fully adjustable to fit various sizes. Amaya reports that “more and more embroiderers are realising that the Melco modular system drastically improves their efficiency and production”. The company continues: “A big advantage of this system is that you can add on more production as you need it or split your production up to suit your ever-changing orders. Another benefit is that because the operating software is PC-driven, any new advancements can be fed straight into the embroidery machine’s brain, keeping it well in front of any of its rivals. This makes the Melco EMT16 Plus the most up-to-date embroidery machine in terms of technology and ease of use. We believe that this system is the most flexible embroidery multi-head available and at the same time gives you the highest level of production possible.” www.amayauk.com The Melco EMT16 Plus multi-head embroidery machine from Amaya
