FilmMaker v10, which supports a wide range of printers including Epson, Ricoh, Roland and Mimaki, promises fast installation and easy configuration for first time users, with a step-by-step for setting up the printer, ink and media. The company also says users can “achieve optimum density levels with a single test print regardless of which ink/film combination is being used“. It includes Visual Production Manager, which Cadlink UK says is “the most intuitive job management and production control console available“. www.cadlink.co.uk Venezuela: calling all screen printers Will Pearson of Phantom Screenprint has come up with a novel charity fundraising idea and is inviting the UK’s screen printers to band together and help him to make it a success. He commented: “The economic situation in Venezuela has worsened to the point where the country has suffered a total economic collapse. The situation is so bad that hospitals and medical centres have no supplies – in many cases, not even drinking water. As a result, Venezuelans are dying needlessly due to the lack of medical care.” Will, who lived in the Venezuelan capital Caracas in the 1970s, has teamed up with UK charity Healing Venezuela. “We’ve produced a piece of T-shirt artwork which prints in four spot colours. The idea is that we send out the print-ready files to any UK printers that want to join in and help the desperate situation in Venezuela.” Printers can ask customers if they’d like to pay an extra £10 for a fundraising T-shirt to be added to their order, with the proceeds going to Healing Venezuela. Will is currently trying to secure a “super-low price” for white T-shirts for the project, and is also producing a PDF that promotes the shirt and explains the Venezuelan predicament. He continued: “If the campaign goes well and we come together as a group in this way, we could collectively choose a different charity each year, with artwork by different print shops, and it would give us all an extra, charitable dimension to our careers as T-shirt printers.” Readers who are interested in taking part in the fundraising project can contact Will at info@phantomscreenprint.co.uk . Dave Roper has agreed to back the project and will be emailing details to Screen Print World customers to drum up their support. http://www.healingvenezuela.org/ The Screenprint for Venezuela artwork View our latest online videos: www.images-magazine.com ETC unveils 2019-2020 brochure ETC Supplies has introduced its 2019- 2020 product brochure, which it says not only contains information and prices on “all the old favourites”, but also many new products, along with user information to help customers get the most out of the products.
