INDUSTRY NEWS www.images-magazine.com 12 images JULY 2018 N ow look, we wrote this piece before the World Cup kicked off. We apologise if it’s all gone horribly wrong and England have dropped out ‘surprisingly’ early (Scotland supporters, behave yourselves). Nevertheless, the F&F and Calm #MarkYourMan T-shirts are too good not to have been selected as our decorated product of the month. F&F, the Tesco clothing brand, has partnered with the charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (Calm) for the World Cup to promote male mental health. The premise behind the tees is that men need to support each other through good days and bad, in the same way that fans support their home nation side during the World Cup. Hence the simple yet clever design: when placed next to each other, the two tees form the St George’s Cross, the traditional symbol of the England football team. Simon Gunning, Calm CEO, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with F&F and Tesco on their brilliant #MarkYourMan campaign. Together we’ll reach a huge audience with the wonderfully positive message about supporting the men and boys in our lives. We encourage everyone to get a T-shirt, support Calm and #MarkYourMan – whether that’s your dad, your son, your partner or your pal.” The T-shirts cost £6.00 each, with £1.00 donated to Calm for each sale. Tesco hopes to raise £20,000 for the charity. Calm’s free, confidential and anonymous helpline and webchat are open every day from 5pm to midnight: 0800 58 58 58 or thecalmzone.net/get-help. w www.thecalmzone.net w www.tesco.com DECORATED PRODUCT OF THE MONTH Comedians Romesh Ranganathan, newly announced Calm ambassador, and Rob Beckett, supporter of Calm, are the faces of the F&F and Calm #MarkYourMan campaign Xpres became the first Epson reseller in the UK to sell the SureColor SC-F2100 DTG printer when rugby retailer First XV chose the new machine. The Edinburgh-based company, which sells a wide range of replica rugby kit, wanted to add new garments to its range. “Earlier in the year we came up with a few T-shirt designs and at that point we wanted to speed up the process,” explained Adam Clark, partner at First XV. “We wanted to control all the steps rather than relying on others to do it for us. We had known Xpres for several years; their delivery is quick and they provide good training and support, so we listened to their advice. Furthermore, everyone we asked seemed to point us in the direction of Epson.” He continued: “Now we can offer our own merchandise as well as branded products, which gives us something quite unique. We plan to expand our in-house production because we believe we can generate extra profit margins from this type of work.” Damon Piall, sales director at Xpres, added: “We are obviously delighted with the release of the second generation DTG machine from Epson. DTG has been a very strong market for Xpres, which continues to grow year on year. Making the first SC- F2100 sale in the UK is a brilliant result for us and our continuing relationship with Epson.” www.rugbystuff.com www.xpres.co.uk First XV scores UK’s first Epson SC-F2100 First XV is first UK company to buy the Epson SureColor SC-F2100 Gildan donates $570,000 to Honduras community project Gildan Activewear donated $570,000 to the refurbishment of a community park in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
