They include the Order Job Feature, which combines and manages all job details inside the .EMB design file. “Product quantity, size, colour and customer information is always at your fingertips and greatly reduces errors,“ says Wilcom. Next is the Advanced Design Library, which allows users to search for a design in seconds by customer, order, date or any text field. Lettering Art Envelopes creates pre-defined templates with fonts, layout and applied styles. Used together with Team Names, it allows users to get a design layout for all the names in an instant. Instant Auto-Digitizing does what it says: shops can reduce colours, set the level of detail, and preview then convert bitmaps with a single click. Also included is satin and fill stitching features with improved optimisation for logos; and it now comes with 32bit image support. Finally, CorelDraw Graphics Suite is included and fully integrated into ES Designing and Decorating products. “This is a must-have for anyone who is serious about multi-decoration,“ says Wilcom. www.wilcom.com TotShirts: Strokeone London-based garment decorator TotShirts is using its industry experience of more than 30 years to create a software system called Strokeone that promises to streamline all aspects of a business. Managing director Peter Joyce explains that the team is “finalising development of two key features that we truly believe will be compelling to users in our industry: API integration to webstores to support off-the-shelf fulfilments and direct- to-garment printing; and quotation and enquiry functionality for our sales and marketing module“. The latter will integrate with the online customer portal (cport), so that clients can approve quotations online, and the quotation will be seamlessly transformed into a live order in the production module. “Additionally, we‘ve seen usage of our client portal soar beyond our projections, so we‘re making considerable investments in the technology to increase scale, performance and user experience,“ says Peter. “In terms of Strokeone clients, we‘ve identified some key industry partners that we will be working with to take beta deployments of the software to enable us to fine-tune features based on industry feedback.“ As part of the software‘s development, electronic day planners‘ have also been added, Peter reports. “These are TV screens dotted about the company that display any number and/or combination of production lines that are of interest to the local user.“ Once the beta testing has been carried out, a commercial version will be available. www.totshirts.co.uk Wilcom‘s EmbroideryStudio e4 includes new features to further improve production efficiency CorelDraw: Graphics Suite 2018 The latest version of Corel‘s design collection, CorelDraw Graphics Suite 2018, promises powerful features and updates. “For our 2018 version, we worked closely with the CorelDraw community to find this ideal balance of possibility and practicality,“ comments John Falsetto, senior director of products, CorelDraw and productivity. “The new Symmetry mode brings a sense of fun and wonder, enabling you to experiment and draw spectacular images in minutes; while a simpler and smarter approach to design fundamentals, like working with nodes and images, ensures every project is completed on time and on budget. Updates include customised curve previews; updated vector previews; redesigned fill and transparency pickers; and new Toggle snapping to make everyday tasks faster than ever.
