With live, immediate update editing of website pages, drag-and-drop additions and editing, and simple, menu-driven configuration all in-page, these tools are said by DecoNetwork to make creating and maintaining a custom website as “easy as it’s ever been for our industry”. The development team has been creating this new solution from scratch over the past two years, completely replacing the current front end. Project manager Greg Pentland comments: “Our updated website editor is a real game- changer; it replaces the existing system with one that’s not only current, but world-class. It’s one of the best platforms for designing a website, period. That’s comparing it to mainstream ecommerce solutions, too. When you compare what we’ve built to our industry competitors, it’s like night and day.” The company has produced a preview video for decorators to see how the new tools work, while current clients and new sign-ups can contact DecoNetwork about the new release. www.deconetwork.com DecoNetwork has released new front-end design tools Barudan: K-Series Automat According to Barudan, its K-Series Automat, which launched in late 2016, is proving popular with Barudan customers new and old alike. The machine’s high resolution, 10.4” colour LCD touchscreen is said to make for simple operation. The main screen has five areas for quicker access and user-friendly icons with text, both of which add to the speed and ease with which the operator can access the menu. There is a ‘one touch’ key for machine speed, colour changes and stitches, all accessible from the main screen. “With a 100-design memory (70 million stitch memory) you can now store your most frequent designs on the machine, again speeding up the recall of designs for super- efficient production,” says Barudan. It continues: “There is a shortcut function to add your favourite icons to the home screen, a zoom design feature to take a closer look at the stitches, and a hoop display and centring feature to eliminate the dreaded operator error ‘frame crash’!” Also included are two USB ports for devices such as a barcode scanner, keyboard, mouse, hub, card reader etc; a COM port for design file server/software connections; and a LAN connector for Barudan networking. www.barudan.co.uk Oil marks on embroidered fabrics happen from time to time. The best solution I’ve found is to treat the stain with a high power fabric cleaner to emulsify the oil, lifting it from the fabric (I recommend ETC Oil Stain Remover). Wiping the lifted oil off can rub it straight back into the fabric, however, so instead I recommend you leave the Oil Stain Remover working for one minute then use Green Clean compressed, non-flammable gas on the other (inside) side of the fabric to the stain and blast the emulsified oil off. www.etcsupplies.co.uk KNOWLEDGE BASE | with Jas Purba, managing director of ETC Supplies
