Target Transfers has also opened its Heat Press Innovation Centre in Essex, which includes the “UK’s largest display of Hotronix machines”. “Choosing a heat press is an important decision,” says the company. “We want to make sure you get the right heat press based on your business needs. Is it an auto-open press? A press with a swing- and-drawer function? Or an air-powered press?” All heat press types are available to test at the Innovation Centre, with developments in heat transfer vinyl and custom heat transfers also on show. “Be the first to test HTV flex with a five-second fuse and hot peel, and take a masterclass into how custom heat transfers work,” adds Target Transfers. Bookings for the Innovation Centre are available by appointment. www.targettransfers.com Nova Chrome UK: Sawgrass Virtuoso Range and SubliJet-HD inks Dye sublimation is currently experiencing a surge of interest in the large format textile market, says Nova Chrome, but desktop solutions still provide a low-cost entry point to the technology. The Virtuoso range of printers from Sawgrass with SubliJet-HD inks offer the best in image quality and reproduction, Nova Chrome advises, and are powered by a suite of software bundled free of charge with all Virtuoso systems supplied by the company. For users requiring a heat transfer press to complete the system, Nova Chrome offers a range of options, from starter units to standard ‘swing head’ options. For those who need volume production or larger sizes there is an A1 pneumatic. Mug presses are also available, which are said to be capable of producing full-wrap, top-to-bottom mugs in around two and a half minutes. Nova Chrome also offers a wide range of sublimation imprintables, including Unisub and ChromaLuxe products, as well as a selection of complementary materials, such as S-Race sublimation transfer paper, which it says “offers superb performance on a range of hard and soft substrates, and is available in both sheet and roll formats”. www.novachrome.co.uk The Forever A3 Laser Dark Paper from Amaya requires no cutting or weeding PenCarrie: Amaya Forever A3 Laser Dark Paper PenCarrie says the Forever A3 Laser Dark Paper (AM055) from Amaya is an ideal product for laser transfer. “Due to it being a film, as opposed to a paper, it’s easy to use and requires no cutting or weeding,” says the company. The transfer is a two-step process that can be used with most CMYK and Oki CMY+W laser printers, and can be pressed at a lower temperature of 120°C, which is said to help prevent dye migration and scorch marks. It’s suitable for fine detailed transfers onto almost any fabric or hard surface, adds PenCarrie, and can be washed up to 40°C and ironed inside out. It can also be used in conjunction with T.Foil (MT221) from TheMagicTouch to add a special effect to the design. www.pencarrie.com Stahls’ Hotronix Power Platen is said to eliminate the “dreaded heat-press box” on heat-sensitive fabrics Nova Chrome says the Virtuoso range of printers from Sawgrass with SubliJet-HD inks offer “the best in image quality and reproduction”
