The thread, called CR Metallic, has been designed to overcome the misconception that metallics are difficult to use, reports Madeira. “This thread makes metallic embroidery easy and accessible to everyone, and is versatile across many applications from functionalwear and fashion, to work and corporatewear, accessories and beyond.” The CR Metallic is made from polyester core covered with metallic and polyester foils to ensure that the thread runs smoothly through the machine and needle. It’s available in 42 colours in two thicknesses: no.40 and no.20. It has Okeo-Tex Class One certification, making it safe for babywear, and is also bleach-resistant, washable up to 60°C and can be run at high speeds. www.shop.madeira.co.uk Onyx software certified for HP Stitch Onyx Graphics, a software solution provider for the wide-format printing industry, has announced that its Onyx software is certified for the HP Stitch textile printer line, which is the first widely-available textile-focused printing solution designed by HP. The new additions mark the first new colours to be introduced to the PMS since 2016. Pantone has also announced that users are now able to access and use its most up-to-date colour libraries within the latest version of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, through a new Pantone Extension for Adobe Creative Cloud. This allows users to easily convert CMYK, RGB, and Hex values to Pantone colours and also to build colour palettes of Pantone colours that can be saved, stored and shared within creative teams. Adrián Fernández, vice president and general manager of Pantone, said: “We are excited to create an even more efficient workflow as we roll out new colours for the graphic arts and improved cross-referencing between Pantone’s PMS and FHI colour systems. “Adding the launch of the Pantone Extension for Adobe Creative Cloud to this mix will enhance the ability to identify, communicate and verify colours both physically and digitally in the Pantone universe.” www.pantone.com Read our monthly digital editions: www.images-magazine.com The CR Metallic threads from Madeira are available in 42 colours Is hard work the key to happiness? New research from executive mentors Rutbusters suggests that managers are at their happiest when they’re hard at work. The research, based on 1,000 senior managers, business owners, professionals and executives, found that 64% of managers said they were happiest when getting their teeth into a tough job, 72% said that earning the respect of their co-workers as a result of their hard work puts a smile on their face, and more than half (54%) said that greater management responsibility would make them happier. Kedge Martin, CEO of Rutbusters, said: “In this era of work-life balance it may sound counterintuitive that many managers will be happier working long hours on a demanding project for nothing more than a bit of recognition. But it reaffirms the adage that if you want something done well, give it to a busy person.” www.rutbusters.org The Pantone Matching System now boasts over 2,100 colours
