As part of the ‘Every Child Is Worth It’ campaign by The Schoolwear Association (SA), the Central Academy and the Lordswood Boys’ School each received garments donated by West Midlands-based schoolwear supplier Clive Mark. This included blazers, jumpers, trousers and shirts, which were supplied in rucksacks donated by tie and bag manufacturer William Turner. Robert is an ex-group CEO with global expertise in sales, marketing and manufacturing. For the past 12 years, he has been working as an international change manager turning around companies in the UK, Europe, Asia and the Americas for private equity providers, large industrial conglomerates and family-owned companies. He became aware of GS UK while consulting for Summa, the company’s previous owners. Impressed by the company’s highly experienced and knowledgeable staff, along with its diverse product range, Robert plans to build on these strong foundations to continue GS UK’s growth within the UK textiles market. The fund, delivered by Transmit Growth Loans, has been created to support small businesses across England whose growth may be stunted due to a lack of affordable finance. It aims to make access to funding “fair, flexible and simple”, with loans of between £10,000 and £60,000 initially. Transmit was launched by entrepreneurs Damian Baetens, Richard Myers and Ian Straker.
