Music on the Marr has called on artists and graphic designers to create a brand new T-shirt design for the festival, ahead of the event in July this year. The winner will receive two weekend tickets to the festival. The T-shirt design must include the Music on the Marr logo, and can only include one colour, other than black. Previous festival T-shirts included colours such as baby blue, white, red, grey and pink. The competition closes on 1 April 2020. The brand has launched three new sports T-shirts for men and women – the Recycled Sports-T Move, the Recycled Sports-T Reflect and the Recycled Sports-T Race – each of which are made from four recycled plastic bottles. Held at the Roper Print Academy, based at the company’s headquarters in Kidderminster, the one-day course runs from 10am-3pm and costs £95 (ex VAT) per person. “The day perfect balances practical and ‘get your hands dirty’ printing with the theory side from the screen print experience training manual, which you get to keep at the end of the course,” said SPW. “The course is limited to six to eight people per class. Over the day you will go over the basics of screen printing, such as terminology, introduction to art, screens and output, setting up a print shop and screen room, job prep and printing on a press, breaking down a job, curing and the general business of screen printing.” The 2020 training course dates are: 25 February, 2 April, 7 May, 18 June, 30 July, 3 September, 15 October and 3 December. www.screenprintworld.co.uk Design a T-shirt to win festival tickets Screen Print World’s one-day Print Academy courses can be booked via the company’s website New music T-shirt design competition Sign & Digital UK 2020 announces first textile digital printing exhibitors Sign & Digital UK (SDUK) has announced a line-up of textile digital printing equipment and machinery suppliers that will be exhibiting at this year’s event. Organisers of the signmaking, display solutions and digital printing show said they have expanded the event’s appeal with a range of new and returning exhibitors, after interviewing visitors to SDUK 2019 to “pinpoint key areas they’d like to see covered in the show, from new products to industry experts and trends”. Companies returning to the SDUK exhibition in 2020 include: Roland DG, Epson, Hybrid Services/Mimaki, Grafityp, Hexis, RA Smart, Blackman & White, Zund, TheMagicTouch, YPS, Amaya Sales UK, Gravograph and Quality Print Services. SDUK event director, Jenny Matthew, said: “For Sign & Digital 2020 we’ve been working closely with exhibitors and visitors to uncover current demands. The needs of our core signage, display and print audiences are always crucial to the show’s success: they have been built into our show development strategy and they are reflected in the expanding exhibitor list.” SDUK will be held in Hall 1 at the NEC, from 28-30 April, 2020.
