The company, which owns Sol’s Europe, says RTP Apparel offers a unique and innovative technology that allows textile printers to skip the pretreatment step, providing a more “simplified digital printing process, stronger reactivity, better printing productivity, a cleaner working environment and an ability to print on- demand in shops”. Available for men, women and children, the pretreated T-shirts are made from organic cotton, which is certified OCS 100/OCS Blend and Oeko-Tex Class 100. The modern-fit tees are available in three different weights and come in four colours: deep black, optical white, French navy and grey mélange. www.rtpapparel.fr ETI confirms Rowlinson Knitwear’s positive impact on overseas workers An independent survey by social impact company 60 Decibels has confirmed Rowlinson Knitwear’s positive impact on the lives of its overseas workers in Bangladesh. Commissioned by the UK Department for International Development and the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), 60 Decibels conducted 214 telephone interviews with workers at New Horizon Bangladesh, which is the largest supplier to the schoolwear manufacturer. The results revealed the positive impact of the employee-owned workwear and schoolwear knitwear provider’s ethical practices on workers’ health and wellbeing, economic status, workplace safety, worker satisfaction and quality of life. An ETI Foundation member since 2017, Rowlinson’s ethical initiatives include: the gifting of large domestic water filters to workers; upholding UK standards in health and safety throughout the factory; good rates of pay; female healthcare education; the provision of sanitary products to female workers; and funding access to Amader Kotha, an anonymous helpline for workers. www.rowlinson-knitwear.com www.ethicaltrade.org www.60decibels.com RTP Apparel’s DTG-ready, pretreated T-shirts are made from organic cotton Protection against the elements Want to know what your industry colleagues really think of the clothes and accessories they decorate? Each issue, one reader tells us why they rate a particular garment This month, Em Small, who is the owner of EGCS Designs, explains why her favourite garments to print are the Core Printable Softshell Jacket (R231M/F) and the Core Printable Softshell Bodywarmer (R232M/F) from Result Clothing. She reports that both garments have proved very popular with her customers in the dog-showing community. “It gets cold standing around at showgrounds, livestock markets and sports centres,“ says Em, “so the fleece lining inside the softshell is great for keeping warm. “The fit of the garments [means they] look smart too, which is always a bonus when you’re advertising your show team.” Em says that both of the Result styles also come in a great range of sizes, which she and her customers agree are “true to fit”. When decorating the softshell outer, she adds that neither garment appears to be affected by heat stress. “Sometimes when using heat-applied transfers, there can be a texture of the garment that shows through the vinyl, but this doesn’t happen with the R231M/F and R232M/F.” To make sure a heat transfer vinyl adheres well to the garment, Em recommends using a pre-press before application. “And be careful of the zips when the garment comes off the press – they get hot!” www.instagram.com/egcsdesigns/ • Contact us at editoral@images-magazine.com to share your favourite garment or accessory style The Core Printable Softshell Jacket from Result, shown here printed front and back, is popular with the dog-showing community, reports Em Small READERS’ CHOICE
