INDUSTRY NEWS www.images-magazine.com 14 images APRIL 2020 Andy Warhol arguably elevated screen printing to a new level in the 1960s. Some of his most famous screen prints, including his Marilyn Monroe and Mao pieces, are on display now at the Tate Modern in London until 6 September 2020, along with many of his other works. In the museum’s shop there are various Warhol items to purchase including the Andy Warhol Skull Maharishi cotton twill stadium jacket. Part of an exclusive Tate collaboration with clothing company Maharishi and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the back of the jacket features a raw edge appliqué skull from Andy Warhol’s Skull, 1976 series. Also embroidered on the jacket is his signature and a quote from Andy Warhol in his handwriting: ‘Everybody’s sense of beauty is different from everybody else’s’. According to the Tate Modern, after Andy Warhol was shot in 1968 “he became even more obsessed with death as a concept. In his Skull series Warhol explores this theme – the skull, screen printed from a photograph taken by one of Warhol’s assistants, is shown in block colours, to emphasise the areas of light and shadow.” Tickets are available for the exhibition online. www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-modern/exhibition/ andy-warhol • Send your suggestion for our decorated product of the month to: editoral@images-magazine.com DECORATED PRODUCT OF THE MONTH Stay in the picture with our Instagram feed and stories: @imagesmaguk Myrtle Beach introduces new caps for 2020 Myrtle Beach, the headwear and accessory brand from James & Nicholson, has announced the launch of 12 new cap styles for 2020.
