INDUSTRY NEWS www.images-magazine.com 12 images MAY 2021 Shirt Monkey installs additional Melco embroidery machines Shirt Monkey has installed four new Melco embroidery machines to assist with the growth of its on-demand embroidery orders. The Winsford-based company previously owned three Melco EMT16X embroidery machines and so will more than double its capacity for embroidery with this latest investment. “We’ve already seen a sharp spike in demand for our on-demand embroidery, so these new machines will help us keep on top of these orders and also give us the spare capacity to continue to scale this side of our business,” explained Nic Simons, director of Shirt Monkey. “The Melco’s modular system is perfect for our workflow – the majority of our embroidery volumes come from our on-demand clients, which is ideal for the modular system as we’re producing hundreds of orders with multiple different designs at any one time,” added Nic. The company’s new machinery was installed by Amaya Sales UK in mid- April. “We’ve been working with Amaya for a number of years now, and the relationship is fantastic – the customer service that we receive from Julian and the team is second to none.” imagesmag.uk/Shirt-Monkey-Melco Stay in the picture with our Instagram feed and stories: @imagesmaguk Shirt Monkey now has seven Melco EMT16X embroidery machines In case anyone missed it, personal care businesses such as hairdressers and beauty salons were allowed to reopen in England on 12 April, along with non-essential retail shops, outdoor hospitality, leisure centres and, well, basically the fun things in life. It was clear from social media, where there have been many, many posts of freshly branded uniforms, that businesses were determined to reopen with a big, good-looking bang. One such company was AMZ Cuts, which ordered a complete set of embroidered garments from Lancashire- based Creative Branding, a family-run business that has been supplying workwear throughout the UK for 55 years. The gents’ hair salon ordered four of Creative’s special bundle deals, with each bundle containing six Pro T-Shirts (RX151) and four Pro Hoodies (RX350), both from Pro RTX, two Result Ice Bird Padded Gilets (R193M), and two Beechfield Original Cuffed Beanies (B45), all ordered from Ralawise. Director Lucy Crook reports that the customer is “absolutely over the moon with their items”, and has already ordered another six packs. www.creativebrandingworkwear.com DECORATED PRODUCT OF THE MONTH AMZ Cuts was one of many hair salons allowed to reopen in England on 12 April Direct Corporate Clothing acquires Incorporatewear Corporate clothing, workwear and PPE supplier Direct Corporate Clothing has acquired the corporatewear provider Incorporatewear Limited from the Workwear Group. “The acquisition will further strengthen our current client base, and add new sectors which complement each company’s supply chain and service offering,” explained Sam Sohal, joint managing director at Direct Corporate Clothing. Both companies will remain operating individually and say the acquisition will have “no immediate impact on employees, clients or suppliers”. “The two companies will operate independently, but will share best practice to enhance their overall product offerings,” continued Sam. “We are pleased that the current senior management team will remain with Incorporatewear, and will continue under the leadership of [general manager] Ed Grigg.” Ed added: “These are exciting times in the next chapter of the Incorporatewear story. The combination of two such recognised brands in the industry will provide great opportunities for our existing and new customers, whilst allowing us to continue to deliver on our strategic objectives.” imagesmag.uk/DDC-ICW Direct Corporate Clothing and Incorporatewear will continue to operate individually
